Statutory Compliance
CKH collaborated with a US-based multinational corporation to successfully outsource the Statutory Compliance functions. CKH continues to provide services through a centrally-managed solution, benefiting the client not only from a cost-savings perspective, but also from a “client experience” perspective where the client can rest assured that their businesses are in compliance. Our success is a measure of the level of comfort that CKH is able to give the client. The most important element of our client relationships stems from the CKH team collectively engaging with the network firms to harmonize the process of the system-wide reporting and efficiency.
VAT receivables: Improvement in cash flow management
When the project began, the client’s VAT receivables were in the center of on-going audit engagement aimed at verifying the true value of such receivables. Applying our expertise to the issue, CKH consultants resolved the uncertainty over VAT receivable and managed, in part, by successfully working with the authorities, to bring the receivable balance down from approximately EUR 7.5m to EUR 2.5m.
Compliance: up to date in all countries
When we inherited the project, there were multiple countries (e.g. Luxembourg, Hungary, Spain and the Nordics) where compliance-related work delays resulted in the financial statement and income tax return filings being late for 2-3 years, and numerous state notices for US related business activities. CKH professionals have been able to design a new and improved process, while simultaneously managing to establish a framework for timely compliance filings in each respective country.
Cost of compliance: significant reduction
The costs of compliance and audit procedures were reduced by a margin of roughly 50% with the direct participation of CKH through an outsourcing solution.
M&A Transaction Support
Two publicly-traded corporations going through a M&A transaction asked CKH to facilitate a post-deal accounting process to allow both entities to comply with their individual reporting requirements. Prior to CKH involvement, both corporations contemplated delaying the transaction by several months to have time to adjust their ERP systems to account for the post-transaction correctly.
CKH designed the process and assisted the staff of both corporations with implementing process. This facilitation subsequently allowed the project to be executed without impacting monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines. In addition, this process allowed two respective organizations to reposition and align their ERP-based processes without interruptions or delays to production.
The development and design of the ERP processes, testing, and multi-phase migrations were therefore not impacted by the pressure of deadlines associated with closing the M&A transaction. This uniquely tailored approach, facilitated by CKH, significantly increased the chances of a successful migration for each company’s ERP-based processes to fit the new requirements of their respective operations.
